Blogspot.com makes it easier for me to send post to the site from my phone so I started it. I will work on keep both spots updated. The main one will be the http://COCWF.blogspot.com

Recently I was asked by someone what our organization is all
about. Being a part of it for a good 30 years or more I stopped to ask myself
that very question. COCWF as we have come to call it strictly because it’s
easier to write has been around I would say for at least 75 years or more.
In the Central Oregon area the women in the Christian
churches gather together once a year at a camp at Round Lake in the Deschutes
woods out of Sisters. It’s a time to greet and meet our fellow sisters in
Christ and catch up on a little fun and fellowship.
The strength of the organization lies in the individual
churches and what they are doing for the women in their areas. They can be
found in Sisters, Madras, Culver, Redmond, Bend, Powell Butte, Prineville, La
Pine, and even further out.
I myself grew up in the Powell Butte church but now attend
Redmond Christian after I married. I have a Bible Study that I lead on
Tuesday’s from 9:00 to 10:30am each Tuesday morning. We have studied many
things. We have studied the characteristics of Christ, the books of I, II, III
John, I and II Peter, the Salt and Light, Jesus as the Bread of Life, the light
of the world, the shepherd, and living water. Soon we will be going through the
Bible in Chronological order picking up stories of different situations and how
the Bible characters handled them and how we can handle these situations
ourselves. Anyone interested can come you don’t need to be a member to attend.
That is the beauty of the service we all share as women in
the church. We have something to offer and if there isn’t something there is
always someone willing to step up and create what needs to be created. Our
strength comes from the ability to want to glorify God in all we do. Indeed you
need to check out the church in your area.
It some ways it’s too bad we couldn’t get together more
often than we do but it doesn’t work that way. Kind of like the Women of Faith
conferences that are put on everywhere across the United States. Its women
coming together to refuel, reinforce, and re-commit themselves to Christ and
the tasks He has set before us to do throughout the year in between our
gatherings.
Women’s retreat meets yearly in September and anyone is welcome to come, just contact the host church for
registrations. Watch this blog for details. That is why I started this was to
bring awareness to COCWF. I will soon be posting more information about the
individual churches and their women’s ministries to show what is out there for
those searching.
In love W.I.T.H. Jesus,
